1. Swim With Sharks

Or maybe we should say swim by sharks. Or even, swim by sharks safely. No need for scuba attire or even a cage, because this adventure takes place at The Golden Nugget in downtown Las Vegas. The $30 million dollar award-winning pool which has a 200,000-gallon shark tank aquarium reopens for the season on Feb. 9th. And, according to their site, they’ll begin taking reservations for the pool and cabanas on January 25th.

2. Take in a Circus – Free

You and the family can have a ball at the Circus Circus Hotel. With circus acts happening at specified times each and every day of the week, you can experience the wonder free! Next, head over to the Splash Zone which features a 50′ waterslide tower and three slides, Splash Pad, water playground, and more. Check their site for details.

3. Make it Magical

Head over to Excalibur Hotel and Catch The Mac King Comedy Magic Show. Just 70 minutes long, the show includes audience interaction which according to Excalibur website, means no two shows are alike. Hungry? The Tournament of Kings is an adaptation of the tale of King Author, where audiences can watch while feasting on a spread. For serious arcade fun, check out the World’s Biggest Pacman and vintage video games, and more.

4. Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth

Have picky eaters that snub their noses at 5-star buffets? Just head over to New York New York Hotel where you’ll find a HERSHEY’S CHOCOLATE WORLD store complete with an 800-pound Hershey milk chocolate Statue of Liberty. The 2-story retail store also boasts an interactive experience where guests can even customize their very own chocolate bars, star in a REESE’S PEANUT BUTTER CUP TV ad, and more. Then head over to the M&M store which spans 28,000 square feet and four levels. There, you and your family can create your own M&Ms with a custom message and choose from a variety of images, and 16 different colors.

Death Valley National Park

5. Get a Breath of Fresh Air

While Las Vegas is all about the bright lights of shows, casinos, clubs, and more, it is also not far from many National Parks. According to The Whole World is A Playground (and confirmed by Google Maps) the following National Parks are a 2-4 hour drive away: Death Valley National Park in California (2 hours), Zion National Park, Utah (2 hr 40 min) Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah (4 hours), and Joshua Tree National Park, California (3 hours). Make sure to check the park’s website for details and important announcements.
