Whether you’re looking for a white Christmas, bright holidays, or just want to go somewhere this winter to experience the great outdoors, we’ve listed five US destinations worth checking out. While we can’t promise you snow, we can say with confidence, remember to pack a coat!

Methow Valley, Washington

It’s the wild west meets arts and culture in Methow Valley, which is located in the Trails & Lakes Region of Washington. This area stretches from the North Cascades to the Methow and Columbia Rivers. Aspen, Colorado

Like stepping into a picturesque scene from a snow globe, winter is one of the best seasons to travel to Aspen, CO. Kick off your adventure with world-class skiing and snowboarding to ice skating, fly fishing, and snowmobiling. 

With 59 hiking trails, 90 restaurants, and scenic drives to not one but two ghost towns, Aspen makes an unforgettable winter destination. For breathtaking views, take a trip to the peak of Aspen Mountain on the Silver Queen Gondola.

West Yellowstone, Montana

Cross-country skiing, ice fishing, snowshoeing, sledding—even dog sledding! When it comes to winter wonderlands, why not set your sights on West Yellowstone? Not only does this southern Montana town offer access to Yellowstone National Park, but you can also sign up for a snowmobile tour through the park for majestic views, wildlife, and even an eruption of the Old Faithful geyser! 

There’s even an interactive Grizzly and Wolf Discovery center for getting a close—and safe—look at some of Yellowstone’s most fascinating predators, grizzly bears, and gray wolves.

Park City, UT

Park City, Utah offers 400 miles of maintained trails which makes it a prime spot for hiking and mountain biking. Plus, when it comes to winter activities like snowboarding, skiing, snowshoeing, dog sledding, sleigh rides, hot air balloons, and more, you’ll find it in Park City.
